Virendra Sehwag is clearly devastated with the way Indian bowlers are performing.
The fourth T20I matchup against West Indies stomped India's fresh wounds once again. It felt like yesterday when the bowling lineup couldn't defend a massive score of 250 runs against West Indies. The criticism since then had started to subside slightly when the bowling lineup got wrecked by West Indies batsmen once again. India leaked 247 runs in the first inning. While the likes of Sanju Samson and others tried desperately, they couldn't win the match for the team.
In the end, the young bowling attack led by Arshdeep and Aksar Patel came under fire for being unable to stop the West Indies batsmen. The fiasco was once again attributed to their inexperience on the whole. This time, Indian legend Virendra Sehwag couldn't hold back his anger with the team and the management on the whole. Without any hesitation he pointed the gun right at the likes of Naman Dhir and Shivam Dube, who seem to be trusted a lot by the team management.
Is this the right time for Bhuvi to step in and steer the team?
Currently, India and the West Indies are tied 2-2 in the series. The fifth T20I will decide the outcome of this series. And according to Sehwag, India is heading towards an embarrassing defeat. For the T20 World Cup champions, West Indies has proved a particular notorious opponent. Their head coach might have cracked the perfect formula needed to defeat the Indian team with their own flat pitch advantage.
"There is not a single bowler in this team that is trustable. I mean, you just look at all the bowlers; they are getting smacked to every corner of the ground in every match. This is so painful to see, and our management wants young bowlers instead of experienced ones," Sehwag exclaimed in his statement.
"Mayank Yadav has pace, but he can be wayward at times. Arshdeep Singh has not bowled according to his capability. Axar Patel has been a big disappointment, and one can't expect too much from Shivam Dube or Naman Dhir. I can't trust anybody here."
With the way experts have been calling out India's bowling attack, perhaps it is time to bring in that experience that the team desperately needs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar's presence in the T20 squad is already confirmed. Why not bring him in to replace the injured Arshdeep Singh so that the entire team can learn from his ways? At least that experiment will be good enough to prove the critics right or wrong. If the management doesn't try, then India won't realize why their bowling attack keeps failing when it matters the most.
