The 2027 3-star cornerback talked to Frenetic Pace Sports about being recruited by Toledo football.
The Toledo Rockets previously expressed interest in Waterford Mott cornerback and 2027 3-star recruit Julian White.
White recently spoke to Frenetic Pace Sports about his ongoing recruitment and why the Rockets stand out to him.
“Toledo produces dawgs,” White told Frenetic Pace Sports in an exclusive interview. “I feel like I would fit the program like a puzzle piece. My cousin Kalib Osborne came through the program and I would love to pick up where he left off.”
Toledo has become a factory for producing NFL defensive backs in recent years, headlined by All-Pro cornerback and Super Bowl champion Quinyon Mitchell, and NFL players Emmanuel McNeil-Warren, Tycen Anderson and Samuel Womack.
Not only would he like to join a lineage of elite defensive backs from Toledo, White wants to follow in the footsteps of his older cousin Kalieb Osborne, who also played for Waterford Mott and went on to play quarterback at Toledo in 2025.
White previously took a visit and competed in a camp at Toledo, so he’s certainly very familiar with the program and would love to don the Rockets uniform some day. In the interview with us, White reflected on his visit to the Glass City.
“Toledo has an amazing campus,” White told me. “Being able to play in the stadium is a different story, and it was truly a blessing to be there. I would love to attend Toledo and play for cornerbacks coach Aaron Foster any day of the week.”
White showcased his aggressive, fast, hard-hitting and physical skillset in a recent matchup at Harper Woods this week. Despite dealing with a minor injury throughout the game, White finished with six total tackles and one pass breakup.
The 5-foot-11, 160-pound defensive back is a heavyweight hitter in every sense of the phrase, and that ability was on full display against Harper Woods as White was flying from sideline to sideline, coming up with multiple hit-stick tackles.
“If I had to describe my play style, I would say I’m a versatile athlete,” White said. “I have trust in my coaches and they have the same trust in me, which allows me to play almost everywhere on the offensive and defensive side of the field.”
Even though he’s expressed a lot of interest in Toledo, White’s recruitment remains open as his senior year continues. The Michigan product is focused on improving his game and eventually choosing the program that fits him the best.
“My recruitment is completely open and I’m not leaning towards any school so far,” White said. “I pray that as the season goes on, I will be able to pick up more offers but as of now, I have tons of work to do to be where I need to be.”
