The Toledo running back received MAC honors following a career-high showing in a win at Ball State

Toledo Rockets running back CJ Miller was named the MAC Offensive Player of the Week after shattering his career-high with 196 rushing yards and two touchdowns in a 39-24 win over the Ball State Cardinals on Saturday!

Miller had a quiet start to the season before exploding for the best performance of his career in the win at Ball State.

The Toledo running back capped off the road win with a game-sealing 68-yard touchdown run in the final minutes.

The 5-foot-11, 230-pound running back currently ranks third in the MAC with 346 rushing yards and four touchdowns, while sitting second in the conference with an average of 6.41 yards per carry throughout five games this season.

Prior to his first season with the Rockets, Miller was named to the Doak Walker award watch list and his talent was on full display against Ball State. Miller started his career at Mercer before following head coach Mike Jacobs to Toledo.

Additionally, Miller and fellow running back Connor Walendzak each eclipsed the 100-yard mark in the win at Ball State, marking the first time that the Rockets had multiple players with 100+ rushing yards in the same game since 2018.

Miller taking home the MAC Offensive Player of the Week also marks the third straight week that a Toledo player has received the honor with quarterback John Alan Richter and wide receiver Bryson Hammer earning the nod last month.

Toledo became just the fourth team ever and the first since Western Michigan in 2016 to have three different players collect MAC Offensive Player of the Week in consecutive weeks. The Rockets also accomplished the rare feat in 2015.

Miller will look to keep the momentum going and follow up his career-best performance with another dominant outing as Toledo hosts Buffalo on Saturday. Toledo is hoping to improve to 5-1 and 2-0 in the MAC with a win over the Bulls.
