He is going to keep playing the way he has been and accept the results.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar got the call up to the Indian team nearly a month ago, ending a four-year hiatus. Even though he is representing the country in an away game in New Zealand, the fans are already eager to know what's next for him. For now, the selectors have only added him to the T20I squad. There's no indication as to whether he will play the longer formats as well. Moreover, there's also some heavy criticism surrounding his form right now.
The way Bhuvi had been playing for RCB in the IPL was rather magnificent. Unfortunately, the right-arm swinger has not been able to convert that momentum into his international cricket this year. Experts and cricket veterans are stunned by the drop in performance. Many are even questioning his intent while playing international cricket. While others wonder if this will affect his participation in international cricket further, Bhuvi is more focused on playing as much as he can.
He is still going to give his best without begging for a place
Being uncapped for four years and then coming back to don the national jersey has to be a great comeback story. In Bhuvi's case, it was a result of his good numbers in IPL and domestic cricket. Now that he got his chance, Kumar isn't too worried about the what-ifs.
"It is great to be playing for India again, but I am not thinking too much about the future. I will continue to play domestic cricket, whether it is Mushtaq Ali or Vijay Hazare.
“I did not chase this (playing for India again), though it was always the dream. Credit goes to my performances in the IPL over the past two years,” he remarked.
Bhuvi is being rather pragmatic right now. Although, it's a good thing that, from his end, he is not setting the bar too high only to disappoint the fans. In either scenario, the bowling attack of the Indian team has improved considerably. While his personal milestones might not progress well, the veteran has brought the Indian bowling unit together with knowledge.
Bhuvi commends the youngsters for being curious and defends them for facing hardships. He is instilling confidence in them that they can control the game, despite all the thrashing they have been taking recently.
