Indian Team Member Shuts Down Prevalent Hatred Against Rohit Sharma Over Fitness Concerns

Share

His answer left the haters speechless over constant trolling.

Whether Rohit Sharma plays the 2027 World Cup or not is something that the team management will decide. The final scenario is something that Sharma can't control by himself. But his fitness is something that only he can decide and control. Even though the Hitman has been playing countless match-winning innings for the team, his critics seem to be stuck on a singular point alone: Rohit Sharma does not look fit.

The Hitman has faced endless trolling online over the same. Looks can often be deceiving, especially when it comes to a person's fitness. But Rohit haters can't seem to understand that fact. They conveniently ignore his work to bash his appearance. To end the never-ending cycle of hatred, former Indian strength and conditioning coach Soham Desai has stepped forward.

Desai has had enough of the keyboard warrior and the empty claims

Rohit Sharma had a major injury almost a decade ago. To recover from that and continue playing international cricket without dropping his form is a miracle in itself. And coach Desai wants the haters to remember the same.

"People need to understand this—that Rohit Sharma had a career-threatening injury around his hip in 2017—Champions Trophy jab hum log hare the Pakistan ke samne final, wo wali mein (after the Champions Trophy final against Pakistan)," he reminds.

"So he has got surgeries in his hamstring and his hip flexor and all that. Around his hip is his weak spot. If he doesn’t train for a minimum of two strength sessions in a week, he is a red flag, and that is the scenario for the last seven to eight years."

As if that answer alone was not justifiable enough, Desai went on to quote his part in the IPL as the skipper of Mumbai Indians and the innings he has played for India over the past 9 years. And logically speaking, it would be impossible for Sharma to catch up and stay with the team if he was not fit enough. His injury alone is enough to take away his spot in international cricket.
