Former CSK Squad Member Flags Player for Fixing Approach During Delhi Premier League

Share

The governing body has involved BCCI and is awaiting their directions regarding this situation.

Vansh Bedi was a part of the Chennai Super Kings squad during the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League. CSK drafted him for 55 lakh INR during the auction as a wicket-keeper batsman. Unfortunately an ankle injury ruled him out of the squad, and since then, he has been playing in the Delhi Premier League until he gets a chance to get featured in the IPL once again.

While Bedi would've hoped for a good season with exceptional performances and a better reputation to enter the IPL with enough credibility, he is instead facing a rather tough situation. According to the Times of India, Bedi was reportedly approached by a cricketer from a neighboring state for match fixing. Bedi has promptly reported the incident to the Anti-Corruption Wing.
This incident is attracting unwanted attention towards Bedi
For now, Bedi is facing wrongful allegations due to the ongoing rumors surrounding a sting operation. As reported by Times of India, Bedi has denied the allegations of him being involved in a cheating scandal during the 2026 DPL. After his report to the Delhi and District Cricket Association, the organization promptly moved forward to escalate the issue towards BCCI.

“Vansh Bedi promptly reported a corrupt approach to the Anti-Corruption wing from a player from Uttar Pradesh, who was also playing in a T20 league in the state. We have attached SLOs with every team this year and all our arrangements have been watertight. We have written to the BCCI and will await their guidance," said Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) Secretary Ashok Sharma.

BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia is yet to comment on this matter. The entire fiasco started unfolding after a sting operation during which ex-Ranji cricketer Rachit Bhatia exposed an unnamed player who was involved in match-fixing operations in the regional T20 leagues of India. The said player is reportedly a part of the CSK squad. Rumors circulating online are wrongfully connecting this hint to Vansh Bedi.

Moreover, Bedi is also moving forward towards taking legal action against the people posting defamatory and false content against him online. We strongly urge the viewers to not indulge with any unofficial rumors and rely on credible sources only.
