Ohio football stayed at the top of the MAC standings for a second straight week following a narrow win.
The 2026 college football campaign is heating up, and several programs picked up pivotal wins in MAC play!
From thrilling overtime finishes to rivalries renewed, check out the 2026 MAC football power rankings following Week 10.
1. Ohio Bobcats (7-2, 5-0)
Ohio remained atop the power rankings for a second straight week after defeating Akron 28-20 to stay unbeaten in MAC play.
The Bobcats are second in the MAC in total offense and defense, and inching closer to clinching a berth in the title game.
Next: at Miami Ohio (November 10 at 8:00 PM)
2. Toledo Rockets (7-2, 4-1)
Toledo survived an upset scare with a 20-17 win at Sacramento State to keep pace in the MAC title race with a third straight win.
The Rockets lead the MAC in points (35.4) and yards (455.3) per game, and remain tied for second place in the standings.
Next: UMass (November 11 at 7:30 PM)
3. Western Michigan Broncos (6-3, 4-1)
Western Michigan got back in the win column following a loss at Toledo the previous week with a 23-10 win over Bowling Green.
The Broncos own the MAC’s top-rated defense, allowing only 19.2 points per game and just 23 touchdowns this season.
Next: at Akron (November 10 at 7:00 PM)
4. Buffalo Bulls (6-3, 4-1)
Buffalo passed one of its most difficult tests with an impressive 34-31 overtime win at Miami Ohio to stay in the MAC title race.
The Bulls trailed 31-16 before scoring 18 straight points to stun the Redhawks with a game-winning field goal in overtime.
Next: at Ball State (November 11 at 7:30 PM)
5. Miami Ohio Redhawks (5-4, 3-2)
Miami Ohio was hoping to stay in the thick of the MAC title race, so squandering a double-figure lead in the fourth quarter in a 34-31 overtime loss to Buffalo was a gut punch.
The Redhawks will try to recover as top-ranked Ohio comes to town next.
Next: Ohio (November 10 at 8:00 PM)
6. UMass Minutemen (5-4, 2-3)
UMass finally found a way to bounce back from a 4-game losing streak with a much-needed 31-30 overtime win over Ball State.
The Minutemen are now just one win away from securing the long-awaited bowl eligibility for the first time in school history.
Next: at Toledo (November 11 at 7:30 PM)
7. Central Michigan Chippewas (4-5, 2-3)
Central Michigan snapped a recent losing skid as well, with an utterly dominant 35-7 win over rival Eastern Michigan at Ford Field.
The Chippewas still have hopes of reaching a bowl game for the 15th time in program history and a second straight year.
Next: Sacramento State (November 11 at 7:30 PM)
8. Eastern Michigan Eagles (4-6, 3-3)
Eastern Michigan opened the season with a lot of promise, starting 4-3 and 3-0 in the MAC, but that quickly came crashing down.
The Eagles are now on the verge of missing a bowl game for a third consecutive year after suffering a third straight loss.
Next: at Western Michigan (November 17 at 7:00 PM)
9. Kent State Golden Flashes (3-6, 2-3)
Kent State was looking to build on a win from a week ago, but the complete opposite happened, getting blown out by previously winless Sacramento State 31-10.
The Golden Flashes own the MAC’s worst offense, posting a putrid 14.3 points per game.
Next: at Bowling Green (November 10 at 7:00 PM)
10. Ball State Cardinals (3-6, 2-3)
Ball State had a golden opportunity to pull off a marquee upset win at UMass in overtime, but apparently it wasn’t in the cards.
The Cardinals simply haven’t been nearly good enough defensively, ranking dead-last in the conference in total defense.
Next: Buffalo (November 11 at 7:30 PM)
11. Bowling Green Falcons (2-7, 2-3)
Bowling Green lost 23-10 at Western Michigan last week, ending its chance of being in the postseason for a second year in a row.
Contrary to Ball State, the Falcons have been awful offensively, sitting last in the MAC with just 286.4 points per game.
Next: Kent State (November 10 at 7:00 PM)
12. Sacramento State Hornets (2-8, 1-6)
Sacramento State finally got in the win column, picking up its first MAC win in program history by blowing past Kent State 31-10.
The Hornets nearly pulled off an upset over Toledo this week as well, but eventually came up just short in a 20-17 loss.
Next: at Central Michigan (November 11 at 7:30 PM)
13. Akron Zips (1-8, 0-5)
Akron is now the only winless team in conference play, following Sacramento State’s historic win last week.
The Zips were hoping to secure an upset over Ohio this week, but couldn’t quite get the job done after suffering a seventh consecutive loss.
Next: Western Michigan (November 10 at 7:00 PM)
