Jack Harvey is currently fighting a cancer diagnosis and actively undergoing chemotherapy.
Jack Harvey recently participated in the Indy 500 for Dreyer & Reinbold Racing. While he was concentrating his efforts on finding a ride for himself in the upcoming season, Harvey ended up facing a terrible situation with his health and well-being. He recently discussed and revealed that he has been diagnosed with cancer.
Now, Jack Harvey hasn't revealed which form of cancer he is fighting, but he did accept that he was taking chemotherapy for his betterment. Even though he is facing one of the toughest battles of his life, the Briton is staying firm about his commitments and vision for the future. Not only is Harvey positive that he will return victorious, but he is also of the opinion that he will be back to the booth next year.
Harvey is pushing for a 2027 seat despite circumstances
A former member of the McLaren Yound Driver Development Program, Harvey has driven in the IndyCar championship for over eight years. His last entry came during the 2026 Indianapolis 500. And Harvey intends to keep participating in Indy 509 while handling his duties as a FOX reporter.
"My goals for 2027 have not changed,” he added on his social media as per RACER. “I plan to be on the grid (with FOX) at St. Pete and strapped back into a race car this May in preparation for the Indianapolis 500. I am receiving excellent care and support from the team around me, my family, friends, DRR, FOX, IndyCar, and many more.
“I’ve never backed away from a challenge in my life, and this circumstance is no different. So…let’s fight.”
During his eight-year career in the sport, Harvey has driven for teams like Meyer Shank Racing, Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, Schmidt Peterson Racing, and Dale Coyne Racing. He grabbed his sole podium in the sport in 2019 whilst claiming a P3 finish. We wish Jack Harvey a speedy recovery and hope that he will be back in the car with a bang!
